Prabowo leads meeting on affordable housing, cleaner neighbourhoods
The meeting focused on efforts to provide more adequate and affordable homes for people in need, according to the Cabinet Secretariat.
It also covered policies to ease access to housing finance, allowing more people to own homes, Teddy said.
“Policies include easing access to housing financing so more people can afford to own homes,” he said.
Through the Indonesia ASRI, or Safe, Healthy, Clean and Beautiful, movement, the government is promoting comprehensive improvements to residential environments.
The program includes providing and upgrading clean water and sanitation facilities, waste management, and improving neighborhood cleanliness and appearance.
“A decent home is not just about the building. It must also be in a clean, healthy, safe, comfortable and beautiful environment,” Teddy said.
The government also discussed measures to ease housing financing, enabling more people to secure adequate and affordable homes.
Indonesia ASRI aims to provide better housing and more attractive neighborhoods while respecting local characteristics, cultures, and traditions, Teddy said.
“This is the spirit of Indonesia ASRI: better homes and more beautiful environments while respecting local characteristics, cultures and traditions,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Coordinating Economic Affairs Minister Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and Coordinating Food Minister Zulkifli Hasan.
Other attendees included Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Housing and Settlement Areas Minister Maruarar Sirait, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani.
