Prabowo Leads Limited Cabinet Meeting via Video Conference During Belgium Visit

President Prabowo Subianto led a limited meeting via video conference during his foreign visit to Belgium on Saturday, 12 July 2025. He connected with seven coordinating ministers of the Red and White Cabinet and State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi. The meeting commenced at 5:00 p.m. Jakarta time, with Prabowo accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.

"A day before embarking on a series of activities in Belgium to fulfil invitations from European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President António Costa, and King Philippe Léopold Louis Marie of Belgium, President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting," Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in a written release on Saturday, 12 July 2025.

Teddy elaborated that the discussions covered various matters related to each coordinating minister's portfolio, including the government's commitment to law enforcement in Indonesia, the progress of the People's School programme, and the advancement of the Red and White Cooperative initiative.

Prabowo also highlighted preparedness for extreme weather conditions affecting several regions in Indonesia. "The head of state also discussed readiness to face extreme weather conditions occurring in Jakarta, West Java, Banten, and other provinces, as well as various other strategic agendas," Teddy added.

He further conveyed Prabowo's upcoming itinerary after completing his visit. The President is scheduled to continue his foreign visit to France to attend Bastille Day, or the National Day of France, on Monday, 14 July 2025, at the official invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Upon his arrival at his hotel in Brussels on Saturday, 12 July 2025, Prabowo was greeted by hundreds of Indonesian diaspora. They had gathered at the hotel's entrance and filled the inner lobby, waving small Indonesian flags. Two diaspora children, including six-year-old Kalla, stepped forward to present a bouquet of flowers to Prabowo.

In the hotel lobby, President Prabowo was also welcomed by several officials: Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Investment and Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, Deputy Head of the Indonesian Representative in Brussels Muhammad Takdir, and Military Defence Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague Colonel Corps Military Protocol Ade San Arief.
