Prabowo: Leaders Who Incite Arson Are Traitors, Will Face Karma

President Prabowo Subianto has stated that any leader who incites the public to commit arson is a traitor to the nation. He acknowledged that in every political contest, there are inevitably winners and losers. “Every few years we compete fairly. There is no problem. Whoever wins, so be it. If you lose, don’t go burning things—what kind of nation is that?” Prabowo said during the peak commemoration of the 79th National Cooperative Day on Sunday. “A leader who advocates burning in this republic is a traitor, brothers and sisters. I believe the law of karma will catch up with all of them,” he asserted. Prabowo admitted that he himself lost four times in political contests, yet he never ordered his followers to commit arson. “I ran in five elections. I lost four times. I never once told my people to burn things. I didn’t even hold demonstrations. I attended my rival’s inauguration, I paid my respects, and I offered my congratulations,” he said. According to Prabowo, political rivalry is normal and all parties must respect the outcome of any contest. “Competition is good. Contests are good, right? In football, there are two teams. One has to win. If one loses, you don’t beat up the referee. Competition is normal,” he remarked.
