Prabowo Launches National Electric Motorcycle and Supporting Ecosystem at Alva Factory
President Prabowo Subianto launched the national electric motorcycle (molinas) and its supporting ecosystem at the factory of PT Ilectra Motor Group (ALVA) in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Thursday (13/8/2026). The launch was marked by President Prabowo pressing a siren button, accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM and CEO of Danantara Rosan Roeslani, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and executives from PT Indika Energy.
“Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, on this afternoon of Thursday, 13 August 2026, by the grace of Almighty God, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, officially launch the national electric motorcycle and its supporting ecosystem,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo said the launch of the national electric motorcycle and its supporting ecosystem was a very important moment and a milestone in the initiative of a number of private business actors spearheaded by PT Indika Energy. Prabowo appreciated the courage of the private sector in developing the national electric motorcycle industry.
“Today, in my view, is a very important day because it is a milestone for the initiative of individual private entrepreneurs who started this project, perhaps the Indika group, a group that has been working for a long time. When I was still young, I had already heard of Indika,” he said.
According to Prabowo, building an electric vehicle ecosystem carries a considerable risk of failure. For that reason, the courage to take such an initiative deserves appreciation. The Head of State called on business actors to strengthen cooperation with the government so that the national industry can develop more robustly.
“I congratulate all of you who have taken courage. Initiative is courage, because initiative carries risk. Everything you invested several years ago could have failed, and even today there is still risk. I invite all of us to become one — the strong, the medium-sized, and those who are somewhat weaker must unite,” he said.
PT Ilectra Motor Group (ALVA) has produced 20,000 electric motorcycles to date. Prabowo even expressed his readiness to return if the company succeeds in increasing its production to 200,000 units.
“Today is the launch. Today I have signed, because today the Indika group has succeeded in producing 20,000 motorcycles. I told the Indika group, if you reach 200,000, I will come again. Two million, I will come again,” he said.
