Prabowo Launches B50 Biodiesel, House Commission XII Chair: Monumental on the World Stage

House Commission XII Chair Bambang Patijaya has praised President Prabowo Subianto for launching the implementation of B50 biodiesel. Bambang assessed the move as monumental because Indonesia is the first country in the world to launch its implementation. “We see this as something monumental because, frankly, the implementation of B50 worldwide is only happening in Indonesia, so it is reasonable for the president to say this is a historic moment,” Bambang told reporters on Sunday (12/7/2026). The Golkar Party politician also touched on the positive impacts of the B50 biodiesel launch. He stated that the biodiesel implementation would increase employment and save carbon emissions. “Regarding the launch of B50, this is indeed a historic moment. We saw at the launch that the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources reported there would be foreign exchange savings of around Rp 170 trillion, as well as job creation and Indonesia’s participation in carbon emission savings,” he said. Prabowo previously described the launch of B50 Biodiesel as a historic momentum for Indonesia. According to him, the implementation of B50 has drawn global attention to Indonesia, which is considered one of the leading countries in efforts to reduce carbon emissions. “This is a day full of pride, it will be remembered, and it has already made the world open its eyes,” Prabowo said during the B50 launch at Rest Area Km 57, Karawang, West Java. Prabowo stressed that the B50 launch is not just an important milestone for national energy independence. He stated that the implementation of B50 also provides a concrete impact on the Indonesian economy, one of which is through state foreign exchange savings of up to Rp 170 trillion. “So today, I would like to thank all elements who have worked hard. Imagine, we can now save Rp 170 trillion in foreign exchange. We are saving 10 billion dollars,” Prabowo said.
