Prabowo: Jordan is My Second Home
President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan emphasised the close relationship between Indonesia and Jordan during a bilateral meeting on Wednesday, 25 February 2026. The meeting between Prabowo and King Abdullah II took place at the Basman Palace, Amman, Jordan.
To King Abdullah II, Prabowo expressed his happiness at being able to return to Jordan. “For me, it is always a pleasure to come to my second home here. I think we have known each other for decades,” said Prabowo in Jordan, Wednesday afternoon.

The King of Jordan and President Prabowo are alumni of the US Army Ranger School at Fort Benning. They first met on 4 December 1995 at Prabowo’s inauguration as Commander of the Army’s Special Forces Command (Kopassus).
Prabowo once went into exile in Jordan after losing his military career in 1998. He once discussed his decision to go to Jordan via his X account on 26 February 2014. “In mid-1998, I was accused of various things. Therefore, I chose to go into exile in Jordan,” Prabowo tweeted on his X account @prabowo.
King Abdullah II ascended the throne as King of Jordan in 1999. Meanwhile, Prabowo was inaugurated as President on 20 October 2024.
Prabowo’s visit to Jordan is his second since he became President. Upon arriving in Jordan on 13 April 2025, Prabowo was greeted directly by King Abdullah II at Marka Military Airport, Amman, Jordan. Prabowo was even driven by Abdullah II to the hotel where he stayed.
On 14-15 November 2025, King Abdullah II made a reciprocal visit to Indonesia. On Saturday, 15 November 2025, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II witnessed a demonstration of the collaborative drone capabilities of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the Jordanian Armed Forces at the Djamsuri AU Shooting Range, Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta.
Meanwhile, in a meeting with Prabowo yesterday, King Abdullah II also stated that Jordan is Prabowo’s second home. “It is always a pleasure to meet you, especially in your second home in Jordan. I know that my people, your people, know that we have a very special fraternal relationship between us for many years,” said King Abdullah II.
In addition to mentioning the close relationship between the two countries, King Abdullah II expressed his appreciation for Indonesia’s efforts in promoting a two-state solution to resolve the Israeli war against Palestine. “I know how committed you are to a two-state solution, how much you value the future of the Palestinian people,” said King Abdullah II.
He also said he looked forward to further discussions on this issue, including how to help fellow Muslim brothers in Gaza resolve the conflict.
