Prabowo jokingly calls Gus Imin, Dasco, and Bahlil 'kancil leaders'
President Prabowo Subianto jestingly referred to the Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, the Executive Chairman of the Gerindra Party’s Central Leadership Council, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and the Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, as “kancil leaders” while attending the peak event of PKB’s 28th anniversary in Jakarta on Thursday evening.
“Indeed, in Indonesia there are two kancil leaders, Gus Imin and Sufmi Dasco,” Prabowo said in his speech.
Prabowo then continued his joke by naming the Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, as the next “kancil”.
“The third kancil is perhaps the Golkar chairman. If three of them gather, oh dear, what trouble,” he said.
“Co, come on Co, be careful. Do you want to be Executive Chairman again or not? This seems like one of Gus Imin’s tricks,” Prabowo said, laughing.
Prabowo said he was touched by PKB’s support for the government’s economic policy direction, often referred to as “Prabowonomics”. He also appreciated PKB cadres wearing T-shirts emblazoned with “Prabowonomics”, although he felt the use of his name for the concept was inappropriate.
“You have given me an extraordinary honour. Even Gerindra doesn’t wear T-shirts like yours. How about that, Dasco? Even Gerindra doesn’t wear them because they know I don’t allow it. If you had asked permission, I would not have granted it,” he said.
“This is Pancasila economics, this is constitutional economics, this is the people’s economics. But I feel respected, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he said.
Prabowo attended the peak of PKB’s 28th anniversary at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the Chairman of the PKB Central Leadership Council, Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar.
Also present were the Executive Chairman of the Gerindra Party’s Central Leadership Council, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, the Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, the Chairman of the National Mandate Party, Zulkifli Hasan, and the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
