Prabowo Jokes About Three 'Kancil' Leaders: 'If They Gather, We're in Trouble!'

President Prabowo Subianto joked that there are three ‘kancil’ (cunning) leaders in Indonesia. They are PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), Gerindra Daily Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and Golkar Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia. The quip was made by Prabowo during his speech at the 28th PKB Anniversary event at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (23/7/2026). Prabowo initially wanted to end his speech because he could not hold back tears seeing PKB cadres wearing ‘Prabowonomic’ t-shirts. “Thank you. I’m worried that if I stay here too long, I won’t be able to hold back my tears,” said Prabowo. He noted that even his own Gerindra Party cadres did not wear t-shirts depicting his policies. He called the ‘Prabowonomic’ t-shirt concept a trick by Cak Imin. “Even Gerindra doesn’t wear these t-shirts. This is Gus Imin’s doing,” he said. Prabowo continued his speech by mentioning that there are three ‘kancil’ leaders in Indonesia. He named Cak Imin and Sufmi Dasco as the first two. “In Indonesia, there are indeed two ‘kancil’ leaders. Gus Imin and Sufmi Dasco,” he stated. The third ‘kancil’, according to Prabowo, is Bahlil. He then remarked that it would be troublesome if the three of them gathered together. “The third ‘kancil’ might be the Chairman of Golkar. If those three gather, we’ll be in trouble. It’s dangerous,” he said.
