Prabowo Jokes About Three 'Kancil' Leaders: 'If They Gather, We're in Trouble!'

President Prabowo Subianto joked that there are three ‘kancil’ leaders in Indonesia: PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), Gerindra Daily Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and Golkar Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia.

Prabowo made the quip while delivering a speech at PKB’s 28th anniversary celebration (Harlah) at JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (23/7/2026). Prabowo initially wanted to cut his speech short because he could not hold back tears upon seeing PKB cadres turning out en masse wearing ‘Prabowonomic’ T-shirts.

“Thank you. I’m worried that if I stay here any longer, I won’t be able to hold it in — the tears might come,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo then noted that even his own party, Gerindra, had never worn T-shirts depicting his policies. He said the idea of the ‘Prabowonomic’ T-shirts was a scheme concocted by Cak Imin.

“Even Gerindra doesn’t wear shirts like that. This is one of Gus Imin’s tricks (having cadres wear Prabowonomic shirts),” he said.

Prabowo continued his speech by saying that there are two ‘kancil’ leaders in Indonesia, naming Cak Imin and Sufmi Dasco.

“Indeed, in Indonesia there are two kancil leaders: Gus Imin and Sufmi Dasco,” he said.

The third ‘kancil’, according to Prabowo, is Bahlil. He then remarked that it would be dangerous if the three of them ever gathered together.

“The third kancil is probably the Golkar Chairman. If those three ever get together, well, we’re in trouble. We’d be in danger,” he said.
