Prabowo Jokes About 'MBG' at PKB Anniversary: 'Mas Bahlil Ganteng'

President Prabowo Subianto made a light-hearted joke aimed at Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia during his speech at the 28th anniversary celebration of the National Awakening Party (PKB). Prabowo referenced the viral acronym ‘MBG’, quipping that it stood for ‘Mas Bahlil Ganteng’ (Brother Bahlil is Handsome). ‘They say MBG stands for Mas Bahlil Ganteng. You’re something else,’ Prabowo said, drawing laughter from the attendees at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday. He then proceeded to greet other party leaders present, including PAN Chairman and Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan.

Earlier, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, explained the reasoning behind the event’s theme, ‘Prabowonomics’. He stated that the theme was inspired by President Prabowo’s spirit in steering a new direction for the national economy. ‘The theme for PKB’s 28th anniversary is A New Direction for the Constitutional Economic Mandate, which we have shortened to one word: Prabowonomics,’ Cak Imin said in his address. He expressed that the theme was a form of gratitude and a commitment to support the new direction of economic development to make Indonesia a self-reliant nation.

The event was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and several political party leaders, including Golkar Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, Democrat Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), PKS President Al Muzammil Yusuf, and PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan. Other political elites present included Gerindra Daily Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, NasDem Treasurer Ahmad Sahroni, PAN Secretary General Eko Patrio, Golkar Treasurer Sari Yuliati, PDIP DPP Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat, Democrat Secretary General Herman Khaeron, and PSI Vice Chairman Isyana Bagoes Oka.
