Prabowo Joins Students for Free Nutritious Meal Programme at Jakarta Junior High School

President Prabowo Subianto sampled the menu of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme while inspecting its implementation at SMPN 111 Jakarta on Tuesday (2/6/2026). According to photos shared by the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo was seen sitting like a student in the classroom during the meal distribution. He also joined in a prayer before consuming the meal.

Other images show the President surrounded by primary school students with MBG dishes on the table. Prabowo’s arrival was met with enthusiasm by students who had been waiting within the school grounds, with cheers and warm greetings accompanying his entry into the school area.

During the inspection, Prabowo entered several classrooms to directly observe the execution of the MBG programme. Inside the classrooms, students were enjoying the nutritious meals provided through the initiative. In one particular class, Prabowo joined the students to eat together. He took the opportunity to ask about their future ambitions, which was met with enthusiastic responses from the students.

“Who wants to be a doctor? Who wants to be an engineer? Who wants to be a teacher? Who wants to be a football player?” Prabowo asked. The interaction was marked by a sense of closeness and lighthearted humour, further brightening the atmosphere in the classroom. Additionally, Prabowo and the students sang the ‘Hymne Guru’ (Teachers’ Hymn) together.
