Prabowo Issues Warning: I Know Who's Paying for the Protests

President Prabowo Subianto has claimed he knows the masterminds who are paying or channelling money to mobilise demonstrations. “Be careful, I am warning those people, I know who is paying for the protests, I know it,” Prabowo said during his speech at the Peak of the XVII National Farmers and Fishermen Week 2026 in Gorontalo on Wednesday (24/6). Although he did not name the party in question, Prabowo alluded to the existence of individuals who pay demonstrators. “When asked, the protesting kids don’t understand, ‘what do you want to protest about?’ ‘hm hm hm’. We were paid Rp200,000, but there is,” he said. Prabowo likened Indonesia’s current situation to being in the middle of a football match. According to him, all parties must act as supporters and should not mock the team when its performance is perceived to be poor. “Our country is competing against many other nations, this nation should be united. If a teammate is lacking, if our team is not performing well, we should still support them. Once the match is over, then we can make corrections,” he stated.
