Prabowo Issues Ultimatum to Officials Harming the People and Corruptors: I Will Not Tolerate!
President Prabowo Subianto has asserted that the government will not tolerate officials who abuse the people’s trust by implementing policies detrimental to society. ‘We will not tolerate those who are trusted by the people, paid by the people, but implement policies that harm the people,’ Prabowo said while leading a simultaneous mass harvest event at 43 locations from Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base in Malang, East Java, on Friday, 17 July 2026.
Prabowo stressed that all elements of the government must work for the people’s interests. He called on all officials, whether elected or serving in the government, bureaucracy, and state-owned enterprises (BUMN), to maintain unity to improve public welfare. Beyond highlighting harmful policies, Prabowo also declared the government would act firmly against corruption and the misappropriation of state funds. ‘Moreover, stealing the people’s money. We will not tolerate it. I will not tolerate it. I will not hesitate!’ he asserted.
According to Prabowo, all elements of the nation must synergise so that the country’s wealth can be managed optimally for the welfare of the people and the interests of future generations. He also used the occasion to invite all components of the nation to strengthen unity and the spirit of mutual cooperation in facing national challenges. He affirmed that Indonesia continues to prioritise good relations with all countries, but must simultaneously strengthen domestic unity. ‘We do not want to make enemies with anyone. I say we want to be friends with all countries. But we realise now that we must be compact, we must be united, all elements,’ he stated. Prabowo noted that the integrated harvest event, held simultaneously at 43 points, is proof that the effort to achieve food sovereignty has evolved into a national movement involving various elements, not just the Ministry of Agriculture. He expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in organising the event.
