Prabowo Issues Presidential Regulation on Ad Hoc Judges' Salaries

President Prabowo Subianto has signed Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 2026 on the Financial Rights and Facilities of Ad Hoc Judges. This regulation governs the salaries, allowances, and facilities for ad hoc judges. Ad hoc judges are temporary judges with expertise and experience in specific fields to adjudicate cases. The latest regulation on their rights was issued on 4 February 2026. Article 2 of Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 2026 stipulates that ad hoc judges receive financial rights and facilities consisting of allowances, official residences, transportation facilities, health insurance, security guarantees, travel expenses, and appreciation payments. Article 3 of the regulation states that ad hoc judges receive monthly allowances. “The allowances for Ad Hoc Judges at each Court are listed in the Attachment, which is an inseparable part of this Presidential Regulation,” as stated in the article. Cassation Level Commercial Court: Rp 105,270,000 Meanwhile, ad hoc judges also receive an appreciation payment at the end of their term. The appreciation payment for ad hoc judges is equal to twice the amount of the allowance. However, the amount received by judges is calculated based on their service period as regulated in Article 12 of Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 2026. Ad hoc judges who work up to one year receive 20% of the total appreciation payment. Meanwhile, judges with 1-2 years of service receive 40%, 2-3 years receive 60%, 3-4 years receive 80%, and more than 4 years receive 100% of the appreciation payment. Ad hoc judges who are dishonourably dismissed from their positions are not entitled to the appreciation payment.
