Prabowo Issues Immediate Directives Following Visit to Senen Station Area

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Prabowo Subianto immediately gave instructions to his ministers after conducting a visit to the railway track embankment in the Senen Station area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (26/3/2026). This was revealed in a post on Instagram by the Cabinet Secretariat.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Public Works Dudy Hanggodo, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia Bobby Rasyidin, Acting President Director & Marketing Director Imelda Alini Pohan, and President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that after the visit along the railway tracks in the Senen area, the President gave orders related to the construction of housing for residents still living along the railway tracks.

“President Prabowo immediately instructed the Minister of Housing (Maruarar Sirait) via telephone as he was in Toba (represented by the Secretary General of the Ministry), the Minister of Public Works, the President Director of Perumnas and KAI (Kereta Api Indonesia) as well as several related officials to build housing for residents still living along the railway tracks,” said Teddy.

Teddy explained that a government team is already moving to prepare the process for building new housing located not far from the original area where the community lives.

The residents who have lived for decades along the tracks will be provided with special housing complete with sanitation facilities so they can live more decently.

“According to the residents’ statements, they have lived for decades along the tracks with limited housing and roofing. And the President wants these residents to be provided with decent housing and sanitation facilities to occupy as soon as possible,” said Teddy.
