Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto, speaking at the plenary session of the Indonesian People’s Representative Council (DPR RI) in the Nusantara Building, MPR, DPR, DPD RI Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday, announced that the government has issued Government Regulation on the Governance of Export of Natural Resource Commodities (SDA).

In the latest Regulation, Prabowo said one of the provisions designates state-owned enterprises (BUMN) as the sole exporters for the commodities palm oil, coal, and ferro alloy.

“To achieve our national objectives, today the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, which I lead, has issued Government Regulation on the Governance of Export of Natural Resource Commodities. The issuance of this Government Regulation is a strategic step to strengthen the governance of export of our natural resource commodities,” Prabowo Subianto said during a speech delivering the Framework for Macro Economy and Core Policies of the Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPFK) for the RAPBN 2027 at the DPR RI plenary session in the Nusantara Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

“Sales of all our natural resource outputs, we begin with palm oil, coal, and ferro alloy, must be carried out through a state-owned enterprise designated by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia as the sole exporter,” the President said.

“The main objective of this policy is to strengthen supervision and monitoring, as well as eradicate practices of under-invoicing, transfer pricing, and foreign exchange leakage from exports. This policy will optimise tax receipts and state revenues from the management and sale of our natural resources,” he said.

With this policy, President Prabowo hopes Indonesia’s revenues can be like those of Mexico, the Philippines, and neighbouring countries.

“We do not want our revenue to be the lowest because we are not brave enough to manage our own assets, owned by the Indonesian people. The nation has the right to know in detail the natural resources we sell abroad; we do not want to be deceived any longer; we want to know exactly how much of our wealth is being sold,” said Prabowo.

“We must not be naive, we must not be gullible, we must not fail to use our common sense,” the President added. “I believe and trust that every citizen, and especially the leaders in this assembly, who have common sense, intelligence, conscience, and a love of country, I am sure and believe that no leader with these qualities will allow our wealth from natural resources to be managed without oversight, without control; this has gone on for too long, ladies and gentlemen,” the President told the DPR RI members and state officials.
