Prabowo Issues Directive to Pramono During LRT Trial from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has revealed a directive from President Prabowo Subianto issued during their recent trial run of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT. Pramono stated that Prabowo requested an increase in the number of vertical gardens throughout Jakarta.

“During the journey, the President issued an order that we will follow up on; fortunately, almost all Regional Apparatus Organisations (OPD) are present here to address vertical gardens. Greening Jakarta will be our primary programme, and we will follow up on this immediately, Mr President,” said Pramlar Pramono during his opening remarks at the inauguration of the Jakarta LRT Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route at Manggarai LRT Station, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

Pramono noted that the Jakarta Provincial Government would act on this instruction promptly. He also took the opportunity to explain the current economic development of Jakarta.

He reported that Jakarta’s economic growth this quarter reached 5.52%, with inflation at 2.5%. Jakarta is also noted to contribute 16.32% to the national economy.

Pramono emphasised that these economic conditions must be accompanied by the development of a more comfortable city. This includes, he noted, strengthening public transport and urban greening, as directed by Prabowo.

“As we approach our 500th anniversary, we continue to strengthen Jakarta’s transformation towards becoming a competitive global city,” he added.
