Prabowo Invites PM Modi to Prambanan

The state visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Indonesia continues in Yogyakarta on Wednesday (8/7). Together with President Prabowo Subianto, Modi is scheduled to visit the Prambanan Temple to attend a series of events, including the signing of a cooperation agreement for the conservation of the world heritage site. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the visit to Prambanan is a key agenda item during Modi’s stay in Indonesia. In addition to discussing cultural heritage preservation cooperation, Modi will also perform worship at the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia. “Today, Prime Minister Modi and President Prabowo will depart for Yogyakarta to visit Prambanan Temple, one of the largest Hindu temple sites and a UNESCO world heritage site, with several agendas including the signing of a cooperation agreement for the conservation of Prambanan Temple. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will take time to worship within the Prambanan Temple complex,” Prasetyo Hadi told reporters on Wednesday (8/7). Prasetyo explained that the agenda is a continuation of the state visit that began on Tuesday (7/7). Modi’s arrival was marked by an official welcoming ceremony at the State Palace, followed by a bilateral meeting with President Prabowo and concluded with a state luncheon. Following the palace agenda, PM Modi continued his visit to the parliament complex, where he was received by the leaders of the People’s Consultative Assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Regional Representatives Council, along with other members of the Indonesian legislature. In the evening, Modi attended a gathering with the Indian community in Jakarta, which concluded the first day’s agenda before his departure to Yogyakarta.
