Prabowo Invites Jordan to Collaborate in Addressing the Humanitarian Crisis in Palestine
AMMAN, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto invited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to establish strategic cooperation with Indonesia in responding to the dynamic humanitarian situation in the Middle East, especially in Palestine.
The invitation was conveyed by the Head of State in the introduction to a bilateral meeting with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, at the Basman Palace, Amman, Jordan, Wednesday (25/2/2026) local time.
“So, thank you very much, Your Majesty, for your support for our contingent. We hope to establish close relations and cooperation because you are the party closest to the Gaza issue,” said Prabowo at the Basman Palace, Wednesday.
He hopes that this cooperation will strengthen the position of the two countries regarding their commitment.
Moreover, he feels that Indonesia is on the same track as Jordan regarding the Palestinian issue.
“We hope that our close cooperation will strengthen our position because, in my opinion, we are on the same footing as Jordan and other countries in the region,” said Prabowo.
“And I think my team will work closely with your team so that we always monitor the situation, and we know exactly what will happen,” Prabowo added.
Furthermore, Prabowo stated that Indonesia is committed to doing whatever it can for a two-state solution.
“Yes, Indonesia is committed to doing whatever we can for a lasting solution. And in our opinion, the only lasting solution is a two-state solution with an independent Palestine,” Prabowo explained.
“And that is why when we were invited to join the Board of Peace, and we supported the 20-point plan from President Trump, all of that was done with the view and effort to do whatever we can to achieve that lasting solution,” he said.
