Prabowo invites Jokowi, SBY and JK; PSI says it reflects inclusive leadership

President Prabowo Subianto invited former presidents, vice presidents, the foreign minister, and the chairmen of political parties to Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, on Tuesday evening. The meeting was welcomed by the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) as an important and beneficial moment for the nation’s future. ‘This initiative to hold a silaturahmi reflects a willingness to listen, respect for predecessors, and a commitment to sustainable development. President Prabowo has demonstrated leadership that is humble and inclusive,’ said DPP PSI Deputy Chairman Andy Budiman in a written statement on Wednesday. From the meeting, Andy continued, the message to the public is that national interests take precedence over political differences. He hopes the unity among leaders will remain even though differences in opinion are natural. ‘The spirit of solidarity among leaders will, we believe, strengthen stability, deepen public trust, and ensure that policies continue to be people-oriented,’ he concluded.
