Prabowo Invites Japanese Businesspeople to Invest in Indonesia
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto invited Japanese businesspeople to expand their investments in Indonesia at the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum held in Tokyo on Monday (30/3/2026).
In the forum, Prabowo stressed that Indonesia is a country that is highly open to global economic cooperation and is committed to maintaining the stability of international relations.
According to him, Indonesia’s position on the global stage is based on the principle of inclusive diplomacy that is open to all parties.
“Indonesia, as you know, is a country that is open to the world. Geographically and historically, Indonesia is an open economy. We rely on trade and close economic partnerships. Therefore, our foreign policy is always based on the principle of non-alignment,” said Prabowo.
On the same occasion, he explained that this principle has become the main foundation for Indonesia in maintaining good relations with various countries, including Japan, which has long been one of its important economic partners.
“Our philosophy is: a thousand friends are still too few, one enemy is too many,” he continued.
He also emphasised that this approach places Indonesia in a stable position amid the increasingly complex global geopolitical dynamics. This is what becomes Indonesia’s advantage.
