Prabowo Invites Business Leaders to Palace This Afternoon: What is the Agenda?

President Prabowo has invited business leaders to a meeting at the Merdeka Palace this afternoon. The leadership of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) has confirmed receipt of the invitation.

Sarman Simanjorang, Vice Chairman of KADIN Indonesia for Regional Autonomy, was among those who disclosed the invitation. He stated that during the meeting, Prabowo will provide directions regarding the national economic situation, global economic challenges, and various developments in the government’s strategic programmes.

“We do not yet know the exact contents of the President’s briefing, but since this is specifically for KADIN officials, it will certainly involve the national and global economic conditions, including their challenges and opportunities. Furthermore, it will cover the Government’s strategic programmes in the economic sector, investment issues, and economic policies and regulations,” Sarman told reporters on Friday (31/07/2026).

Sarman noted that the invitation issued by Prabowo is titled ‘Presidential Briefing of KADIN Indonesia with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr Prabowo Subianto.’ The meeting is scheduled to take place today at 14:00 WIB at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta.

According to Sarman, the President is also expected to convey his expectations to the business community to support various strategic government programmes to stimulate economic growth. “The President certainly has expectations for business actors on how to support the Government’s strategic programmes in order to achieve the targeted economic growth,” said Sarman.

Sarman assessed that the meeting is significant as it serves as a platform for direct communication between the President and business actors represented by KADIN. He expressed hope that similar agendas could be held regularly.

“We believe this activity is very important and strategic because it facilitates effective communication between business actors, represented by KADIN, and the President. We hope such activities can be conducted routinely, perhaps two to three times a year,” Sarman added.

“As a forum, the President will also directly hear the grievances and aspirations of business actors, which can subsequently be addressed through pro-business and pro-industry policies,” he concluded.
