President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed that every economic policy adopted by the government must be oriented towards tangible results. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya conveyed this in a statement posted on the official Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet.

According to Teddy, the results should be felt by the nation and the state. "President Prabowo wants every policy taken to deliver concrete benefits for Indonesia as quickly and as extensively as possible," Teddy wrote in his Instagram caption on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

Prabowo Subianto summoned several economic ministers to his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Sunday afternoon, 15 February 2026. Through his Instagram account, Teddy shared moments from the meeting. In attendance were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, and State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi. They were seen seated around a round table.

Teddy said Prabowo provided clear directives regarding the direction and principles the government must uphold in every international economic negotiation. Prabowo stressed the importance of ensuring that every step in economic diplomacy serves the national interest.

"Ensuring that the position Indonesia takes in every economic negotiation with anyone, particularly in the near term with the United States, is the best and most advantageous for Indonesia," Teddy said.

According to Teddy, Prabowo also conveyed that economic negotiations must not be merely short-term transactional exercises but must have a direct impact on strengthening the national economic structure. In this regard, Teddy said, increasing domestic industrial productivity and strengthening global supply chains are the top priorities.

"The President wants negotiations to maximise domestic industrial productivity and strengthen the global supply chain for industry," Teddy said.

On Monday, 16 February 2026, Prabowo Subianto commenced his visit to the United States. According to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo and a limited entourage departed for Washington, D.C. from the Indonesian Air Force base at Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta.
