Jakarta (ANTARA) — President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed that the installation of smart interactive flat panels in schools forms a central part of the national education digitalisation strategy.

He explained that the programme is designed to ensure all students, including those in remote areas, gain access to quality education through technology.

“It was very moving when I received a message from a headteacher in a remote area of Papua saying that for the first time they felt this kind of attention,” the President said at a US Chamber of Commerce business forum in Washington D.C., United States, on Wednesday afternoon (18/2) local time.

In his presentation, the President stated that by the end of December 2025, the government had distributed more than 288,000 interactive screens to schools across Indonesia.

At present, each school has on average one screen unit placed in one classroom. President Prabowo has set a target of adding three more units per school.

The long-term target is for every classroom in Indonesia to be equipped with a smart board before the end of his term in office. Through these devices, all national school curriculum materials have been integrated into a digital system and can be accessed at any time.

The technology also enables distance learning. The government has prepared a central studio staffed by the country’s best teachers, who can teach remotely to various regions, including island and mountainous areas that lack teaching staff.

“We have a central studio with Indonesia’s best teachers who teach through a remote system. This is what we call the digitalisation of Indonesian education, and we are very serious about implementing it,” he explained.

The Head of State also emphasised that education digitalisation enables real-time monitoring of the learning process. From the centre, the government can monitor classroom activities, teacher attendance, and learning dynamics.

According to him, the response from students, parents and teachers to the programme has been very positive. The high level of enthusiasm is seen as an indicator that digital transformation in the education sector is heading in the right direction.

“For me, it is very moving to see the rapid results of this programme. Going forward, we are beginning to see the outcomes and will continue to pursue various other reforms,” the President concluded.
