President Prabowo Subianto issued firm instructions to guarantee public comfort during the 2026 Lebaran exodus. At a Full Cabinet Meeting held at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Friday, 13 March, the Head of State emphasised the importance of transport fare discount policies and cross-institutional synergy.

The President instructed Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi to oversee strict implementation of fare reductions across various transport lines. The policy is expected to lighten the economic burden on the public whilst dispersing passenger congestion.

“I ask the Transport Minister to ensure that the discount price policy can be implemented as effectively as possible, including discounts on airline tickets, trains, ships, and toll roads, as well as ensuring good service at every location,” said Prabowo.

Mobilisation of TNI and Police Assets

Beyond fare considerations, security and fleet availability became the primary focus. The President asked TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to deploy personnel and relevant military equipment to assist in smooth mass mobilisation.

Prabowo believed that naval and land fleets belonging to the TNI could serve as an alternative transport solution if there is a significant surge in passengers.

“It is possible that the Navy and Army have ships that could be made available and coordinated with the Transport Minister. I believe the National Police also have assets and facilities to help,” he explained.

Infrastructure Development Appreciation

Before hearing readiness reports from relevant ministers, the Cabinet Meeting began with a video presentation showing infrastructure development progress. The President commended the completion of 218 bridges throughout Indonesia, accomplished in just 2.5 months.

According to Prabowo, this achievement demonstrates the government’s swift response in strengthening national connectivity, particularly ahead of a major occasion such as Eid al-Fitr.
