Prabowo Instructs TNI-Polri to Support 'Red and White' Village Cooperatives

President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) to provide full support for the acceleration of the ‘Koperasi Desa Merah Putih’ (Red and White Village Cooperatives) programme. The directive was issued during a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, 23 July 2026.

Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan stated that the President emphasised the cooperatives’ role as strategic government infrastructure and economic drivers for the community. ‘The President has ensured that the Red and White Village Cooperatives, Red and White Sub-district Cooperatives, and Red and White Fishermen’s Cooperatives must be supported by all ministries and agencies. The TNI and Polri have also been asked to provide full support,’ Zulkifli said.

He explained that the cooperatives are designated as the primary distribution channel for all subsidised goods and government assistance, aiming to create a more integrated and targeted delivery system. The meeting also addressed the financial readiness for the first instalment of payments for the Agrinas Pangan programme to the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara), which is due in September. The government is expediting the verification and validation process to ensure all requirements are met by August.
