Prabowo Instructs Temporary Closure of Non-Compliant Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units
JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has instructed the temporary suspension of operations for Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) units that do not meet standards, as part of efforts to improve the overall quality of nutrition fulfilment services.
The directive was conveyed to the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, to ensure that all SPPG units comply with hygiene, sanitation, halal, and food safety standards before resuming operations.
“SPPG units that are inadequate should be temporarily closed and their quality improved immediately,” said Dadan, relaying the President’s specific message, which was delivered on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, in his statement on Monday (23/3/2026).
These three certifications are expected to serve as the primary foundation for guaranteeing the safety, cleanliness, and quality of food provided to the public.
“Once these three certifications are fulfilled, certification related to the quality of SPPG human resources—such as chefs, food handlers, and environmental analysts—will follow,” Dadan continued.
Previously, suspensions had been implemented following evaluations that revealed several units did not meet operational standards and lacked necessary facilities and infrastructure.
Similar actions have also been carried out in 717 Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) units in eastern Indonesia.
The unregistered SPPG units are scattered across several provinces, including West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Maluku, and several areas in Papua.
