Prabowo Instructs No Discrimination in Services for BPJS Patients
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has instructed that there must be no discrimination in services provided to BPJS Kesehatan patients within hospitals.
This was stated by the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, following a meeting with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday (28/9).
“It must also be ensured that all existing hospitals do not differentiate between BPJS patients and non-BPJS patients,” said Budi.
Furthermore, Budi stated that Prabowo also instructed that BPJS services must be continuously improved. He noted that efforts should be made to further shorten patient queues.
“If there are patients admitted, they must also be able to be served well,” he added.
Additionally, Budi mentioned that regarding services provided by private hospitals, Prabowo wishes to identify the specific challenges they face in delivering services to the public.
At the same time, Budi also revealed the approval for the disbursement of Rp20 trillion from the State Budget (APBN) to BPJS Kesehatan.
“Two weeks ago, the disbursement of Rp10 trillion plus another Rp10 trillion was approved, making a total of Rp20 trillion for BPJS this year,” said Budi.
