Prabowo Instructs Affordable Market Event to be Held at Monas

President Prabowo Subianto has instructed his subordinates to hold an affordable market event for Jakarta residents. The event, featuring a bazaar, lucky draws, and public entertainment, is being held in the area around the National Monument, today, Saturday, 28 March 2026.

“Still in the atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr celebrations, on the instructions of President Prabowo, this afternoon at the grounds of the National Monument (Monas), the Palace will once again welcome the public,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya via the Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet.

Teddy stated that this affordable market activity is intended for the Capital’s residents, both those who did not go home for the holidays and those who have returned to Jakarta after the Lebaran break.

Teddy recounted that President Prabowo’s order to hold this event originated from the public’s enthusiasm during last week’s Lebaran at the Presidential Palace. “The President wants as many people as possible to share the joy of Lebaran in a warm and communal atmosphere,” he said.

Teddy mentioned that the Presidential Palace has prepared 100,000 shopping vouchers for free goods and basic necessities worth Rp500,000. Additionally, there are 300,000 portions of free food prepared by 800 micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) street vendors.

According to Teddy, this public bazaar involves traders from Tanah Abang Market, Senen Market, and various other markets in Jakarta.

In addition, the event features various prizes through a lucky draw or door prize system. The prizes include 1,000 bicycles and 100 electric motorcycles.

Teddy noted that the event also provides an entertainment stage featuring performances by the music groups Wali and Bagindas. There are also various games for children.
