President Prabowo Subianto met directly with residents who previously lived along the railway tracks near Senen Station at their new housing location in Jakarta on Friday evening (28/8).

The Head of State’s presence marked the beginning of a better life for residents who now occupy much cleaner and more orderly accommodation.

“This evening I met residents in their new housing. They previously lived in the area along the railway tracks of Senen Station, Jakarta,” President Prabowo Subianto wrote in a post on his official social media account, quoted in Jakarta on Friday (28/8).

The President expressed his hope that the new housing facilities would provide peace of mind and an improved quality of life for all family members of the residents.

“May this new house become a more decent, safe, and comfortable place to live for all families,” the President added.

During the inspection, the Head of State was seen engaging in warm dialogue with a number of residents while taking the time to step inside to see firsthand the condition and interior of the housing buildings.

This face-to-face visit took place several months after President Prabowo instructed relevant ministries and agencies to immediately establish and provide humane housing for residents who had been forced to survive in inadequate conditions along the railway banks of the Senen area, Jakarta.

Through this relocation measure, the government affirmed its commitment to delivering healthy urban settlement planning while providing social protection for low-income communities.
