Prabowo inspects cleanliness and food safety of Free Nutritious Meal kitchen in Palmerah
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto inspected the cleanliness and food safety of the food produced by the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchen at the Palmerah Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) in Jakarta on Tuesday. The inspection aimed to ensure that kitchen operations and distribution processes adhere to established standards.
Upon arriving at SPPG Palmerah at approximately 09:30 WIB, President Prabowo was welcomed by the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana. The President received reports from Dadan and a briefing from the head of the SPPG, who subsequently led the President to the greenhouse area.
The greenhouse area at SPPG Palmerah serves as a supporting system for nutritious food ingredients, which are grown and harvested directly by SPPG staff. Various vegetables are cultivated there using hydroponic and biofloc methods. The President was briefed on how the greenhouse is integrated with the MBG kitchen operations, designed to support a sustainable supply of guaranteed nutritional ingredients.
SPPG Palmerah, which is under the guidance of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), harvested approximately 80 kilograms of mustard greens and 560 catfish last month.
Moving to the kitchen area, President Prabowo donned a hair net and gloves, adhering to the hygiene and food safety standards required in the MBG kitchen area. Inside the kitchen, Prabowo personally observed the food processing stages, ranging from raw material preparation and cooking to the packaging of meals intended for distribution to beneficiaries.
The Presidential Secretariat, in an official statement in Jakarta, explained that the visit to SPPG Palmerah is part of the government’s commitment to ensuring the entire implementation chain of the nutrition fulfilment programme operates in an integrated manner, from food supply to meal presentation.
“Through the support of various facilities and good governance, the government hopes that the nutrition fulfilment programme can provide optimal benefits for improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources,” stated the Presidential Secretariat.
Following the inspection of SPPG Palmerah, Prabowo proceeded to SMPN 111 Jakarta in Kemanggisan, Palmerah, to observe firsthand the schoolchildren receiving the benefits of the free nutritious meals.
