President Prabowo Subianto visited the Bulog Danurejo warehouse complex in Magelang Regency. The sudden inspection was conducted after delivering directives to the chairmen of all Indonesian Regional People’s Representative Councils on Saturday, 18 April 2026.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that this visit is part of the government’s efforts to maintain rice supply stability in the region. He said Prabowo wanted to ensure that rice stocks were secure.

“The President suddenly asked to see the Bulog warehouse in Magelang or Yogyakarta upon returning from the regional council leaders’ event,” said Teddy in a statement from the Presidential Secretariat’s Press, Media, and Information Bureau on Saturday (18/4/2026).

“The President wanted to ensure directly that our food reserves, particularly rice, are in a safe condition and ready to be distributed to the public,” he continued.

Teddy explained that the Bulog Danurejo warehouse complex consists of two building units with a total capacity of 7,000 tonnes and is currently fully filled. According to him, the stock readiness is very good to support needs in the City and Regency of Magelang.

“The President also emphasised that in addition to availability, rice quality must be continuously maintained, and its distribution must be timely and on target so that the benefits are truly felt by the public,” he said.

Teddy stated that this inspection is part of the government’s commitment to strengthening national food resilience. Furthermore, it ensures that the state is present in fulfilling the people’s basic needs.

“This is the government’s commitment to strengthening national food resilience and ensuring that the state is always present in fulfilling the people’s basic needs,” concluded Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

Amid the fuel and food energy crisis in various countries, especially the impact from conflicts in the Middle East, Indonesia remains strong, safe, and stable in terms of goods availability and prices. The President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening national food resilience and ensuring that the state is always present in fulfilling the people’s basic needs.
