Prabowo Inspects Bulog Warehouse in Magelang, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Reveals the Reason
President Prabowo Subianto carried out a surprise inspection of the Bulog Danurejo Warehouse Complex in Magelang Regency, Central Java Province, on Saturday (18/4/2026). The inspection took place after Prabowo delivered guidance to the Chairmen of Indonesian Regional Representative Councils at the Military Academy.
According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Prabowo’s activity is part of the government’s efforts to maintain rice supply stability in the region. On that occasion, the head of state was accompanied by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono.
“The President suddenly asked to see the Bulog warehouse in Magelang or Yogyakarta upon returning from the regional council leaders’ event,” said Teddy, quoting an official statement, on Saturday (18/4/2026).
Teddy explained that the president wanted to directly ensure that the rice reserves were in a safe condition and ready to be distributed to the public.
It is known that the Bulog Danurejo Warehouse Complex consists of two building units with a total capacity of 7,000 tonnes and is currently fully stocked. This indicates excellent stock readiness to support needs in both Magelang City and Magelang Regency.
“The President also emphasised that, in addition to availability, the quality of the rice must be continuously maintained, and its distribution must be timely and on target so that the benefits are truly felt by the public,” he stated.
Teddy explained that this inspection is part of the government’s commitment to strengthening national food resilience and ensuring that the state is always present in fulfilling the people’s basic needs.
