Prabowo: Indonesia will rise, nothing can stop us

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto conveyed his optimism that Indonesia will rise to become an increasingly strong and independent nation, while attending the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress in Jombang, East Java, on Thursday.

On that occasion, President Prabowo stated that Indonesia is currently facing a number of major challenges, including the impact of the El Nino climate phenomenon, influenced by its geographical conditions as an archipelagic country.

Nevertheless, Indonesia also possesses abundant natural resources and energy potential that serve as strong capital for the nation’s resurgence.

He outlined a number of achievements that have been made, including successfully achieving food self-sufficiency within two years, with Indonesia currently moving towards energy independence to reduce dependence on fuel imports.

He also touched upon the achievements of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG), which has reached 62 million beneficiaries spread across Indonesia.

Although there are still challenges and shortcomings in its implementation, the President is committed to resolving all issues so that the programme’s benefits can be widely felt.

“The important thing is that the benefits must be received by all our children, all pregnant mothers, and all elderly people,” he continued.

To ensure that the nation’s wealth provides great benefits for the people, he again emphasised the importance of courage in eradicating corruption and implementing budget savings.

The Head of State said these measures have generated hundreds of trillions of rupiah that can be redirected towards public welfare.

“From our savings efforts, we have managed to save hundreds of trillions, and that money is what we use to help the poorest and most vulnerable people as much as possible,” said Prabowo Subianto.
