Prabowo: Indonesia Will Rise in a Few Years, Nothing Can Stop It
President Prabowo Subianto is optimistic that Indonesia will experience an economic resurgence within the next few years. This confidence is based on the discovery of potential natural wealth in the form of large gas and gold fields.
This was conveyed by Prabowo at the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama Congress in Jombang, East Java, on Thursday (27/8/2026).
Prabowo spoke about the challenges facing the nation, such as the strong El Niño weather conditions and the geographical challenges of an archipelagic country, even though Indonesia lies within a prosperous cluster of islands.
However, in his view, Indonesia is a strong nation and will grow even stronger, thanks to the blessing of vast natural resources. Based on these discoveries, he is convinced that no party will be able to halt Indonesia’s progress.
“I have seen our results now. We have discovered gas fields, extraordinary gold fields — our wealth. Believe me, brothers and sisters, in a few years Indonesia will rise remarkably and nothing, nothing will be able to stop us,” said Prabowo.
Nevertheless, he believes that the management of this natural resource wealth must be accompanied by the courage to eradicate corruption.
“The important thing, the important thing is that we must have the courage to eradicate corruption. We must have the courage to eradicate corruption because it is corruption that has caused much of our wealth to be lost, taken abroad,” Prabowo stated.
To that end, the government has begun taking steps to close loopholes and stop the flow of state wealth abroad. He also touched on the government’s efficiency efforts, which have already reached hundreds of trillions of rupiah.
“From our savings, we have already been able to save hundreds of trillions. That money is what we use to help the poorest, the most vulnerable people as much as possible,” he said.
