Prabowo: Indonesia and Belarus Launch 2026-2030 Cooperation Roadmap

President Prabowo Subianto and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko have officially launched the Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation Strengthening Roadmap 2026-2030 as a foundation for bolstering bilateral relations. Prabowo stressed that the launch reflects the commitment of both nations to building more focused and mutually beneficial cooperation across various strategic sectors. “Today, both countries have launched the Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation Strengthening Roadmap 2026-2030, which will serve as a framework for developing bilateral relations over the next five years. This roadmap reflects a shared commitment to more targeted and concrete cooperation,” Prabowo stated on Thursday, 2 July 2026. The two countries also discussed various strategic measures to strengthen partnerships in politics, economy, trade, industry, food security, and human resource development. In the food security sector, Prabowo noted that Indonesia and Belarus have complementary potential. Cooperation will be enhanced through modern agricultural development, fertiliser supply, agricultural technology, and heavy machinery to boost agricultural productivity. In the economic field, both nations agreed to expand partnerships supporting their respective national development agendas. Future cooperation will encompass industrial development, agricultural modernisation, supply chain strengthening, and technology development. On trade, Prabowo expressed appreciation for Belarus completing the ratification of the Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement. He noted that Indonesia is also currently finalising its ratification process. Prabowo further revealed that the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations was realised through the signing of several cooperation documents by delegations from both countries. The agreements cover cooperation in health, culture, national accreditation, financial transaction reporting, industry, science and technology, financial services, and defence. “I hope this cooperation can be implemented promptly so that it delivers tangible benefits to both nations in the near future,” Prabowo said. Meanwhile, Lukashenko stated that Belarus will support the implementation of the roadmap, considering Indonesia is an important economic partner for Belarus in the Southeast Asian region.
