Prabowo Inaugurates Thousands of Bridges and Clean Water Sources Built by TNI-Polri
President Prabowo Subianto has inaugurated 3,395 bridges and 3,000 new clean water sources built by the TNI-Polri. The inauguration was conducted virtually from the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (13/6/2026). The event was centred at two locations, namely Lebak Regency in Banten Province and Bekasi City in West Java Province.
“Today we inaugurate 3,395 bridges that have been built by the TNI-Polri and 3,000 clean water sources that have been built by the Army,” said Prabowo during his address.
On that occasion, Prabowo expressed his appreciation to the TNI-Polri ranks for carrying out their mission of service and devotion to the people. According to him, the TNI-Polri have become part of the people.
“You are not ordinary soldiers, you are not ordinary police officers, you are the people’s soldiers, the people’s police, born of the people, fighting alongside the people, giving the best for the people, and ultimately you will also return to the people,” he said.
Prabowo also admitted that he had been monitoring the initiatives undertaken by Army Chief of Staff General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak and National Police Chief General Polisi Listyo Sigit Prabowo for a long time, even before they assumed their current positions.
“Ladies and gentlemen, although you may not feel it, all good deeds, all good service by individuals, by officials, by leaders are in fact monitored, recorded and remembered by the people,” he said.
“Therefore, I think that a soldier like Maruli Simanjuntak becoming the highest-ranking officer in the Army is fitting based on the results of his service. I am also confident that General Polisi Listyo Sigit Prabowo reaching the highest peak in the police force is fitting because of his achievements, service and abilities,” he added.
For information, Prabowo also received a briefing from Maruli that the TNI carried out the construction of 3,008 bridges and 3,232 clean water activities for rice fields. The number of bridges that have been completed reached 2,500.
“Today I am in Bekasi, which is the 2,500th point completed over nearly seven months. We have worked on 3,008 bridge points, 2,500 are complete, 508 are in progress, and 798 are in disaster areas,” he said.
Meanwhile, Listyo reported that the police had carried out the construction and revitalisation of 895 Merah Putih Presisi bridges independently, spread across 30 regional police commands, with details of 874 completed, 17 units in the construction stage, and four in the planning stage.
“The 874 bridges that have been completed have a total length of 19.2 kilometres, connecting 1,314 villages and providing benefits for two million people, from schoolchildren, farmers, traders, workers, MSME players to the general public,” said Listyo.
