Prabowo Inaugurates the New Marsinah Museum
President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Marsinah Museum and a rest house in Nganjuk, East Java, on Saturday (16 May 2026) morning.
The inauguration was marked by the reading of an official statement and the signing of a plaque, symbolising the opening of the museum.
The museum serves as a memorial space that records the life journey and struggles of Marsinah, a labour activist who was later recognised as a national hero.
Upon entering the museum, visitors are greeted by a rectangular board containing a profile of the Marsinah National Hero Museum.
The rooms within the museum are designed to help visitors understand Marsinah’s life journey, from her childhood to the moment the state recognised her struggles.

At the back of the museum, there is a free rest house for pilgrims who wish to stay overnight. This facility was created specifically as a form of respect for those who want to commemorate Marsinah’s struggles.
The Marsinah Museum is located in Nglundo Village, Sukomoro District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java.
From the centre of Nganjuk city, the distance to the Marsinah Museum is approximately 8 kilometres (km) with a travel time of approximately 15 minutes.
The route is as follows: follow the main road from Nganjuk city to the east, towards Kertosono or Jombang.
After turning left and passing through the gate, the journey will lead to the Marsinah Museum.
