Prabowo Inaugurates Sarmuji as Minister of Industry

President Prabowo has officially inaugurated Sarmuji as the Minister of Industry. The Secretary-General of Golkar will replace Agus Gumiasting Kartasasmita.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Thursday (1/10/2026). The event commenced with the singing of ‘Indonesia Raya’.

The proceedings continued with the reading of the presidential decree regarding the appointment of the officials being inaugurated today. President Prabowo then led the administration of the oath of office.

“That I shall be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and shall implement all laws and regulations with the utmost integrity in my service to the nation and state. That in performing my official duties, I shall uphold official ethics and work to the best of my ability with full responsibility,” stated Prabowo while leading the oath, which was followed by Sarmuji.

In addition to Sarmuji, Prabowo also inaugurated several other officials. These include Sugiono as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Social Affairs, Dudung Abdurrachman as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, and Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the Chief of Staff to the President (KSP).

Sarmuji previously served as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR), representing the East Java I electoral district.
