Prabowo Inaugurates Said Iqbal as Special Presidential Adviser for Labour
President Prabowo Subianto has officially inaugurated the President of the Labour Party, Said Iqbal, as the Special Presidential Adviser for Labour and Worker Welfare. The inauguration ceremony was held at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 8 June 2026.
The ceremony commenced with the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by the reading of the Presidential Decree regarding the appointment of the official. Said Iqbal was appointed based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) 58/P of 2026 concerning the Appointment of the Special Presidential Adviser for Labour and Worker Welfare.
Following the reading of the decree, President Prabowo led the oath of office, which was followed by Said Iqbal. βIn the name of Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will implement all laws and regulations with the utmost integrity for my service to the nation and state. I shall uphold professional ethics and perform my duties to the best of my ability with full responsibility,β stated Prabowo.
Prior to the ceremony, Said Iqbal had confirmed that he was due to be inaugurated by President Prabowo at the State Palace on Monday afternoon. He noted that he had been contacted by the Cabinet Secretary, Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya, on the evening of Sunday, 7 June 2026, regarding the appointment.
