Prabowo Inaugurates Marsinah Museum and Shelter in Nganjuk, East Java

Nganjuk, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Marsinah Museum and a shelter in Nglundo village, Sukomoro sub-district, Nganjuk, East Java on Saturday, 16 May 2026.
Based on VIVA’s observation at the location, Prabowo arrived at the Marsinah Museum at approximately 08.58 WIB. The President rode in a Maung vehicle and greeted the local community.
The Marsinah Museum is located at Jl. Marsinah No.7, Nglundo, Kec. Sukomoro, Nganjuk Regency, East Java 64481.
“In the name of God, this morning, Saturday, 16 May 2026, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate the Marsinah Museum and the Shelter in Nganjuk Regency, East Java,” said Prabowo.
The event continued with Prabowo signing an inscription as a sign of the inauguration of the Marsinah Museum and the Shelter.
In attendance at the inauguration were Marsinah’s sister, Marsini, Marsinah’s younger sister, Wijiati, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, KSPI President Andi Gani Nani Wea, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Djamari Chaniago, Minister of Environment, Jumhur Hidayat, Head of Bakom RI, M. Qodari, Deputy Minister of Manpower, M. Afriansyah Noor.
Also present were Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Secretary of the Cabinet (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya, Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, Presidential Staff Office (KSP) General TNI (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, Commander of the TNI General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
Across the street from the entrance to the Museum, there is a statue of Marsinah. Meanwhile, around the museum, there is also Marsinah’s tomb and her original house.
It is known that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto awarded the title of national hero for the 2025 period to 10 figures.
Some of the figures who received the title include the 2nd President of Indonesia, Soeharto, the 4th President of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur, and labour activist Marsinah.
The awarding ceremony was held at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, on the commemoration of National Heroes Day, which falls on this day, Monday, 10 November 2025.
The awarding of the title of hero was based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) Number 116 of 2025 concerning the Awarding of the Title of National Hero.
