Prabowo Inaugurates Construction of 13 Downstream Projects Worth Rp116 Trillion
President Prabowo Subianto has inaugurated the construction of 13 phase-two downstream processing projects in various regions of Indonesia, with an estimated investment value reaching Rp116 trillion.
The development of these 13 phase-two downstream projects represents a key government strategy to accelerate resource-based industrialisation, thereby increasing value added and bolstering national energy resilience.
President Prabowo Subianto explained that this groundbreaking ceremony marks the second stage of downstream processing, encompassing 13 projects worth Rp116 trillion. These include five projects in the energy sector, five in minerals, and three in agriculture.
“The first phase of downstream processing already featured 13 projects across 13 locations, and shortly, this year we will add six more downstream projects, and we will continue to add more. There might be phases 4, 5, 6, God willing, this year as well,” Prabowo stated during the inauguration in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, or BKPM, and simultaneously CEO of Danantara, Rosan P Roeslani, stated that this groundbreaking is being held simultaneously at 13 locations across Indonesia.
“Previously, we carried out phase-one downstreaming in February (13 projects). This phase (phase 2) is now being inaugurated. There is still phase 3 with six downstream projects; if we total them up, around 30 projects. We see that these downstream projects will contribute to value added, industry, and job creation, reaching 600,000 people,” Rosan explained in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
