Prabowo Inaugurates 1,177 Young TNI-Polri Officers: 'From Today, You Belong to the Nation and State'

President Prabowo Subianto officiated the inauguration of 1,177 young officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) at the Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta on Wednesday. The President stressed that the Prasetya Perwira (Praspa) ceremony was not merely a formality of rank promotion, but the starting point of a full commitment to serving the nation and state. He reminded the newly commissioned officers that from the moment they took their oath, they bear the people’s mandate to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and security.

‘On this auspicious day, on behalf of myself, the government, the people, the nation, and the state, I congratulate you who have officially been appointed as TNI and Polri officers in 2026,’ Prabowo stated. He emphasised that the event was not the finish line of their struggle, but the beginning of a great responsibility as state apparatus who have sworn to serve the people, even to the point of sacrificing their lives for the nation.

Prabowo asserted that the first rank they received is not merely a symbol of honour, but a mandate, a trust, and a hope from the Indonesian people that must be upheld with integrity and responsibility. ‘Starting today, you no longer belong to yourselves. Starting today, you are no longer the property of your families. You have become the property of the nation and the state,’ he declared.
