President Prabowo Subianto led the Prasetya Perwira (Praspa) ceremony for the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. A total of 1,177 candidate junior officers were inaugurated. Acting as inspector of the ceremony, Prabowo administered the oath directly to all candidates, with the wording adapted according to each individual’s religion.

‘That I will fulfil the duties of an officer to the best of my ability for the nation of Indonesia and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution,’ Prabowo recited, with the officers repeating after him. He continued, ‘That I will lead my subordinates by setting an example, building initiative, and guiding them on the straight and true path. That I will be willing to sacrifice body and soul to defend the homeland and the nation.’

The newly commissioned officers comprised 512 from the Military Academy, 229 from the Naval Academy, 154 from the Air Force Academy, and 282 from the Police Academy. President Prabowo also personally presented the Adhi Makayasa rank insignia to four top graduates: Calvin Tidar Sakti from the Military Academy, M. Rizqi Wira Utama from the Naval Academy, Yehezkiel Bonaventura Y from the Air Force Academy, and Harindra Arshando T from the Police Academy. The ceremony commander was Colonel Infantry Mario Christian Noya.

The Prasetya Perwira ceremony is an annual state event marking the culmination of education for cadets from the TNI and Polri academies before they assume their first postings. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, heads of state institutions, ministers, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the service chiefs of staff, and 4,708 invited family members were in attendance.
