JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that not all political parties within a country are good, with some being considered less desirable.

This statement was made when Prabowo welcomed Tuban Regent Aditya Halindra Farizky at the Corn Harvest Festival and Groundbreaking Ceremony for 10 Food Security Warehouses of the Indonesian National Police.

“Tuban Regent, Brother Aditya Halindra Farizky. Yes, Aditya Halindra. Not a member of the Gerindra party, not Halindra, Gerindra, the names are quite similar,” Prabowo said jokingly in East Java, Saturday (16/5/2026).

Despite this, Prabowo strives for more good parties than bad ones in Indonesia.

“All parties are good. When we govern a nation, some parties are good, and some are not. We strive for more good ones and fewer bad ones,” Prabowo said.

Even with the best efforts, Prabowo acknowledged that state officials often face criticism when they make mistakes.

“When the military and police perform well and maintain security, it is considered normal. But when things go wrong, they are criticised. That is the fate of state officials, the fate of public servants, it’s okay. That is our duty,” he said.

As is known, Tuban Regent Aditya Halindra Farizky is a politician from the Golkar Party.

He is the Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Regional Leadership Council (DPD) for Tuban Regency for the 2020-2025 and 2025-2030 periods.
