Prabowo: I Am Ready to Die for This Nation
President Prabowo Subianto has expressed his desire to transform Indonesia into a just and prosperous nation that ensures the welfare of its people.
He conveyed this during his speech at the Jakarta Convention Centre, Central Jakarta, on Friday (18/09/2026). He noted that almost all political parties share the same ambition: to strive for Indonesia’s progress and prosperity.
“I am also confident that in almost all parties, many share the same values of struggle as we do. In all parties, I know, I am acquainted with the people in those other parties,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo stated that he is even prepared to die for Indonesia to realise these aspirations.
“Of course, we all want Indonesia to be just and prosperous. We want our people to be prosperous. Since I was young, I was sworn in—I was 18 years old at the time—that I am ready to die for this country,” Prabowo said.
He expressed a deep desire to make the Indonesian people prosperous, ensuring that no citizen suffers from hunger.
“I want to defend my nation, to see a time when Indonesia is honourable, the Indonesian people are prosperous, and there is no hunger in Indonesia,” he stated.
“There should be no fathers or mothers who are confused when their children are ill. There should be no Indonesian children going to school hungry,” Prabimos added.
As President, Prabowo is committed to improving child nutrition to prevent stunting and ensure healthy brain development.
“I do not want to see any Indonesian children suffering from stunting or malnutrition, resulting in weak bones, weak muscles, or weak brain cells, making them unable to compete with children from other nations,” he said.
Prabowo also vowed to ensure the prosperity of the Indonesian people.
“I swear to see Indonesia prosperous. That is my oath,” he concluded.
