Prabowo: Human Activity Is Behind Indonesia’s Forest and Land Fires

President Prabowo Subianto has ordered his officials not to take forest and land fires lightly. He said the government would revoke the permits of any companies found to have violated regulations and been involved in burning land.

Prabowo made the remarks during a plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (21 October).

He said the results of investigations showed that forest and land fires were not caused solely by natural processes or other natural factors, but also involved human activity.
