Prabowo Hosts Friendly Gathering with Paskibraka and Ceremony Commanders for Indonesia's 81st Independence Day
President Prabowo Subianto held a gathering and expressed his gratitude to all elements involved in the proclamation moment ceremony on 17 August. Prabowo received the ceremony officers and performers who enlivened the 81st Independence Day event at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
The moment was shared on the Cabinet Secretariat account on Wednesday (19/8/2026). A warm atmosphere was evident when Prabowo embraced a young performer at the Independence Day celebration. The 2026 Paskibraka members were also seen wearing their full uniforms at the meeting.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the ceremony officers in attendance consisted of Paskibraka members, ceremony commanders, pilots, and parachutists. He added that arts and culture performers also joined the gathering because they had given their best contribution and dedication to the success of the Independence Day ceremony.
Teddy said Prabowo conveyed a message to the young men and women. Prabowo asked them to continue maintaining the spirit of togetherness and pride as part of the independence commemoration.
“The President also expressed appreciation for the discipline and spirit shown in carrying out their duties, and conveyed a message that the experience should serve as a foundation to continue contributing to the nation and state,” he said.
The 81st Independence Day ceremony was successfully held at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (17/8). The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere.
The ceremony was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani, DPR Speaker Puan Maharani, Deputy DPR Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Constitutional Court Chief Justice Suhartoyo and Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra, as well as members of the Red and White Cabinet.
Also present were the 7th President of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi), 13th Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, the wife of the 9th Vice President Hamzah Haz, Soraya Hamzah Haz, and Dewi Soekarno.
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the Chiefs of Staff of the Army, Navy, and Air Force also attended. In addition, the ceremony was also attended by thousands of invited guests.
