Prabowo holds warm discussions with Modi, Putin, and Xi at BRICS

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto held warm discussions with several world leaders on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, India, on Saturday.

According to a written statement from Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, President Prabowo conversed with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping before the summit’s opening session commenced.

“The four leaders appeared to be conversing in a warm and friendly atmosphere before the opening session began,” said Teddy.

President Prabowo was seen alongside President Putin when PM Modi and President Xi joined the conversation. This interaction demonstrated the close communication between leaders amidst the official agenda of the multilateral meeting.

This moment serves as an illustration of the personal diplomacy that characterised President Prabowo’s presence at the BRICS Summit.

Outside of formal sessions, these inter-leader meetings provide space to build communication and strengthen bilateral relations between nations.

On various occasions, President Prabowo has emphasised the importance of open foreign relations and cooperation with all parties based on the principles of mutual respect and mutual benefit.

The warm atmosphere prior to the summit’s opening also reflects the good relations between Indonesia and India, Russia, and China, which serve as several of Indonesia’s strategic partners both regionally and globally.
