Prabowo Holds Virtual Meeting to Discuss Economic and Energy Policies

President Prabowo Subianto held a virtual meeting with members of the Merah Putih Cabinet on Saturday, 28 March 2026. Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting was to discuss economic policies.

“Hari Sabtu siang sampai dengan sore hari ini, 28 Maret 2026, Presiden Prabowo Subianto mengadakan rapat terbatas,” said Teddy in a caption on the Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet.

Teddy explained that approximately 15 of Prabowo’s ministers attended the meeting, which was conducted via video conference. Those present included Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

Also in attendance were Interior Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Manpower Minister Yassierli, Investment Minister Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Minister for State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini, and State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.

Teddy stated that Prabowo’s meeting with his aides was to determine adjustments and decisions on several economic and energy policies.

The government is currently preparing a number of policy schemes to anticipate the impact of the global crisis. The cause is the war raging in West Asia since late February, which has caused world oil prices to soar and supplies to tighten.

President Prabowo Subianto expressed his desire to save in facing the potential crisis due to the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. He conveyed this in a plenary cabinet session two weeks ago.

One option to reduce fuel oil consumption is the implementation of a one-day work from home policy for civil servants and private employees.
