Prabowo Holds Sudden Ministerial Meeting at Hambalang
President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, summoning a number of ministers from the Red and White Cabinet. The meeting not only discussed the evaluation of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage but also the progress of the government’s strategic agenda in higher education, human resource strengthening, and cooperation on critical mineral technology and rare earth elements. Officials in attendance included Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, known as Gus Irfan, his deputy Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, and Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi explained that the President’s first agenda was to receive a report on the implementation of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage from the Ministry of Hajj, Commission VIII of the House of Representatives, and the Hajj supervisory team. However, the President’s agenda did not stop at Hajj matters. Prabowo also specifically requested the latest update on the development of Indonesia’s human resources, a key foundation of the national development programme, and summoned the Minister of Higher Education and Science and Technology. Additionally, the President sought an update on various strategic collaborations related to the mastery of future technology and the management of Indonesia’s strategic mineral resources. Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak revealed that the President is paying great attention to the quality of services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims.
